OnePlus 5T Sandstone White Variant is Essentially a 5T Star Wars Edition Without Star Wars Logo and Red Alert Slider
After all the teasing and rumours, the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White version just went official in the US. OnePlus officially listed the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White version on its US website saying that it will start shipping to customers starting January 9, 2018. Like the Star Wars Edition OnePlus 5T, the Sandstone White also comes in a single 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage option which retails for $560 in the US. OnePlus is selling the recently launched Star Wars Edition 5T in India for Rs 38,999.
OnePlus says that the new Sandstone White variant of the 5T pays tribute to the original OnePlus smartphones which arrived with Sandstone back panels. The Sandstone White features a textured back, and the back is completely plain. The Star Wars Edition OnePlus 5T featured Star Wars logo at the bottom, and the alert slider arrived with Red Hue. But that’s the case with the Sandstone White variant as it completely has a white back, which also looks good.
Without the Red coloured Star Wars logo at the bottom, the Sandstone White 5T looks similar to the Google Pixel 2 XL Panda edition. Besides the new coloured back, the smartphone is similar to the original 5T. Also, it doesn’t come with any Star Wars theme. OnePlus should have included the Red Star Wars in this version too.
Rest of the things are pretty similar. It has got the same 6.01-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset. Aforesaid, the device comes in a single 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage variant. And like the earlier 5T’s it doesn’t have any microSD card slot for storage expansion.
A 16MP primary camera is present at the back of the phone along with a 20MP secondary low-light sensor. Both the sensors have an aperture size of f/1.7. A 16MP camera adorns the front. This device runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat based OxygenOS 4.7 on top. It is backed by a 3300mAh battery. The OnePlus 5T Sandstone White is not coming to the Indian market.
