Huawei launches MateBook D (2018) with 8th-gen Intel processor
Huawei has refreshed its Matebook laptop lineup with some new models, the highlight of these are the new 8th-gen Intel processors. The Chinese tech firm has launched MateBook D (2018) models that come in three different combinations of processor, RAM and storage.
The MRC-W10 variant runs on 8th-gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor with a base frequency of 1.6GHz. It also includes 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt hard drive. The variant is priced at CNY 5188 (roughly Rs 50,890).
The Huawei MateBook D (2018) MRC-W50 variant has the same processor and RAM capacity as the MRC-W10 but has 128GB SSD storage along with 1TB hard drive. Users can get this variant at CNY 5,488 (roughly Rs 53,800).
The MRC-W60 is the most premium laptop in the series with 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8550U processor (base frequency of 1.8GHz), 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD storage and 1TB hard drive. The variant is priced at CNY 6688 (roughly Rs 65,700).
Rest of the specifications include a 15.6-inch full HD (1080x1920 pixels) display with 178-degree wide viewing angle. It also has a 1 megapixel camera at the front for video calls. Supporting dual band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.1 connectivity, the Huawei MateBook D (2018) is backed by a 3800mAh battery, which is rated to deliver around 8.5 hours of video playback.
Some of the other features include Dolby Atmos audio system, double microphones, dual speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB 3.0/2.0 ports. The laptop measures 358x239x16.9mm and weighs 1.9 kgs. There are four colour options for each of the three variants of the new Windows 10 laptops -Gray, Gold, Silver and Black.
Huawei has not yet mentioned when it will bring its new MateBook D laptops in other parts of the world.
Huawei's sub-brand Honor is focussing on launching its Honor V10 smartphone in India soon. The company recently announced that the smartphone will be exclusively available on Amazon and the customers can register for the same staring today (December 28).
